In 1983, seven enthusiastic gardeners, Fran Dowd, Sue Feagler, Judy Gacek, Marge Gardner, Gail Klauschie, Paula Howard and Joan Wolfgram founded Loveland Garden Club. Its mission statement reads, “The objective of the club shall be to stimulate the love of gardening, encourage home and community beautifucation, promote horticultural practices and encourage all forms of conservation.”

Today, Loveland Garden Club’s 54 members are active volunteers in Omaha and surrounding communities. Members are active in conservation, horticulture, flower arranging and support of Lauritzen Gardens.

Loveland Garden Club is a member of The Garden Club of America, whose purpose is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, to share the advantages of association by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence, in this country and abroad; to aid in the protection of native plants and birds; and to encourage civic planting.
