Omaha, NEB – To celebrate the opening of the new Omaha Central Library at 72 nd and Dodge Streets, volunteers from Omaha’s Loveland Garden Club have designed a floral art creation to welcome visitors on April 19, 2026.
The Omaha Central Library has earned the LEED Gold certification recognizing its commitment to sustainabilityand efficiency which is shared by the Garden Club of America and the Loveland Garden Club. The striking, local, and sustainable floral design uses materials from within a 50-mile radius and no floral foam or plastics are used. The floral creation complements the contemporary architecture and native plant landscaping.
“One of our club goals is to beautify our city and to enhance the architecture. We wanted to congratulate the library for creating a beautiful space for imagination, learning, and where the community can thrive,” explained Marilyn Martin and Paula Ashford, co-chairs of the club. In addition, the club expressed gratitude to the city and library staff for a building that enriches the landscape and a space that engages the community.
