Marilyn and Paula hosted a thank you tea in honor of the Fundraising Committee for Executive Board and committee chairs at Marilyn’s home on June 5th.

Eight LGC Executive Board members and 13 members of the Des Moines Founders Garden Club met for lunch at the Upstream Restaurant and then attended the Ribbon Cutting Event at Polina Gardens June 1, 2026. Omaha Mayor John Ewing and major donor Bob Schlott spoke to the attendees who also included other donors to the project. One of seven official Piet Oudolf designed gardens in the U.S., it has 120 trees and 22,000 perennials. It is located in the Old Market at 727 South 13th Street.
